Former Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Suresh Raina have faced a major controversy. They posted a video on social media that was perceived as mocking people with disabilities. 

The video showed the cricketers, along with Gurkeerat Singh Mann, limping and dancing to the song “Tauba Tauba.” They said the video reflected their “sore bodies” from playing cricket for 15 days.

However, disability rights advocates, including Manasi Joshi, condemned the video. They said it perpetuated harmful stereotypes and discriminated against the disabled community. 

The National Council for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People, filed a police complaint. He argued the video violated disability rights law.

Harbhajan Singh, who is an MP, faced criticism for his lack of disability awareness and Responsibility as a public figure. 

After the backlash, Harbhajan apologized, Saying they did not intend to hurt Anyone. But the controversy continues, with calls for the cricketers to be penalized. 

The incident highlights the need for greater awareness and sensitivity towards the disabled community, especially among influential public figures. 

The cricket news website should maintain an objective approach while emphasizing the importance of disability rights and the responsibility of public figures.
